Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is a DC Comics superheroine created by William Moulton Marston. She first appeared in All Star Comics #8 (December 1941). The Wonder Woman title has been published by DC Comics almost continuously except for a brief hiatus in 1986. Wonder Woman wears a tight red, gold and blue costume with stars on the shorts and red stars on her gold bracelets.

Wonder Woman is originally from the Amazon Greek Island of Themyscira or Paradise Island.

Wonder Woman's mission was not just to stop criminals but to get them to become upright citizens as well. She had great powers of persuasion and as an Amazon was greatly skilled in hand to hand combat. Wonder Woman has a magic tiara which also serves as a deadly boomerang, utility earrings allowing her to breathe in outer space, unbreakable bracelets. If removed Wonder Woman will become extremely angry and also wears a "lasso of truth" When bound by her lasso, criminals have no choice but to speak the truth.

I believe Wonder Woman is a hero because she is a strong woman who demands respect and I also like the fact that she not only captures criminals but wants them to be good citizens.

Interesting Facts:
1: She comes from an Island of only women
2: Wonder Woman's tiara is so sharp she was able to cut Superman
3: At one point she gave up her powers to live in Man's world and run a boutique. She later recovered her powers.
4: Different Greek gods each blessed her with different powers: Demeter with strength, Aphrodite with beauty, Artemis with animal communication, Athena with wisdom and war tactics, Hestia with the lasso-of-truth, and Hermes with speed and flight.
5: It was Marston’s wife Elizabeth who gave him the idea to create Wonder Woman
